MVC planned a religious tour
In the heart of the Mediterranean Sea, Malta with its unique artistic and cultural heritage and the mild climate, is a charming island.
Renowned for its 365 churches, so rich in history and artistic masterpieces such as St. Jerome and the Beheading of St. John the Baptist by Caravaggio preserved in the Cathedral, the Island represents an important destination for those interested in religious tourism.
For this, MVC planned a religious tour including guided visits to the World Heritage Sites in Malta, through rare historical testimonies of the National Museum of Archaeology and churches and sites like the Co-Cathedral of St. John in Valletta, the Mosta dome, one of the biggest in the world (Church of S. Maria Assunta in Mosta) and the Grotto where St. Paul was imprisoned in Rabat.
A journey into the past, including natural, artistic and landscape fineness; from St. Paul’s arrival and his permanence in Malta in the 60 year AD, to the religious charism of the Order of the Knights of Malta and, finally, to the three visits of Pope John Paul II and the more recent one of Pope Benedict XVI in 2010.
